I was born in Germany, but for the most part grew up in Lawrenceville, Georgia. I had the opportunity to teach in Namibia for a couple of years with the Peace Corps, which was truly life changing. I love traveling and hope to make it to as many countries as I can. In my free time you can find me reading/writing, watching tv, or researching random facts.

I teach because kids are simply the best! They inspire me daily to do better and be better. Also, I get to encourage, support, and collaborate with the future leaders of our world.

Instrumental Music Fine Arts

I grew up in and around Tulsa, but moved to the San Luis Valley in Southern Colorado in 2015. I am grateful for the opportunity to come back to teach at TSAS! Besides creating music I spend my time mountain biking, trail running, hiking my dogs, skiing and gardening, and there is generally loud music playing in the background of whatever I am doing. I currently live in a home that I have been fixing up on an old property that used to be a dairy farm and a sawmill in a small town called Del Norte, CO. I live here with my two dogs Schroeder and Ralphy, and my seven chickens, Rosie, Hennyetta, Betty, Small Betty, Karen, Foghorn, and Leghorn. However, I will be moving the whole crew home to Tulsa very soon, and could not be more thrilled!

Before teaching I worked as an HVAC journeyman, as part of the operations crew at the Tulsa Zoo, and then served as an Americorps volunteer for a year. I was blessed to learn from some really amazing educators during my (extensive) time as a student. I choose to teach with the hopes of helping my students discover what makes them valuable musicians as individuals, just as my teachers did for me!

Licensed Student Counselor Support

I look forward to going to work every day to assist the students of TSAS. I enjoy traveling, gardening, and reading. I am married and have a son who attends my alma mater, OSU. We have two cats, and one dog. I dream of living on a small acreage of land, keeping bees, and growing organic fruits and vegetables.
