When I’m not teaching, I like to watch documentaries on science, history, and true crime, play video games and Dungeons & Dragons, tinker with various creative projects, and spend time with my husband, our kiddo, and our two cats.
I teach because I love sharing my passion for science with my students. Seeing a kid have one of those “Eureka!” moments when they finally figure out a tough concept, or watching a kid start the year saying they don’t like science, but end the year saying it’s their favorite subject, are some of the best feelings in the world. I am grateful that I get to share even one molecule of that with them.

I love being a part of the TSAS family! When I’m not at school, I’m hanging out with my husband, teenage son, and two giant pit/boxer babies named Sprite and Coca-Cola. I also have five adult children/step-children (and one grandchild!) who are scattered throughout the Midwest. Some of my interests are St. Louis Cardinal baseball, reading, napping, eating cereal, watching TV and movies with my family, listening to all kinds of music, and attending live music concerts, drag shows, and local art markets.
I strive to live life to the fullest in the present and help others whenever possible. I am passionate about good mental health, human rights and equality in all areas of life. A few of my heroes are Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Thich Nhat Hanh, RuPaul, and Michelle Obama. TSAS kids give me joy in the present and hope for the future. I’m honored to be even a small part of their journeys.
