TSAS prides itself in having created an atmosphere that is welcoming of and enriching to all students. Our students come from all parts of Tulsa – many transfer after their freshman year at another school, or after a lifetime of homeschooling. Others follow in the footsteps of older siblings. What brings them all together is a desire for a different sort of education; one that challenges the mind while engaging the whole student. Whether they are interested in anything from public service to playing in a band, knitting to the environment, we have a club for them! If we don’t, new clubs spring up every year, and they are welcome to create their own.
The curriculum at TSAS is rigorous and college preparatory; Advanced Placement classes are emphasized, and our graduation requirements exceed the state’s. The school year is divided into trimesters, and students take only five 70 minute classes per session. The extended class periods allow for a more in-depth look at ideas and concepts, and no school bells interrupt discussions.
Our students leave TSAS with the skills and knowledge to achieve whatever their plans may be.
