I am blessed with the most beautiful woman on the face of this planet, Abisola (Abby), the wife of my youth (over 12 years), and because of her, we have the 3 most gorgeous, smart, and intelligent children in the world; Simi (10), David (6), and Esther (2). I recently ran and completed my very first half-marathon (13.1 miles). I used to be so scared of dogs, but I found out just recently I do NOT have that fear anymore. I saw a Coyote head-on during one of my practice runs, and it kept coming close to me and my friend, but noticing we didn’t flinch, it found an escape route through a fence and ran away!

I teach because it goes back to the saying, “To whom much is given, much is expected.” Our future generation of leaders deserve the very best of quality education and am grateful TSAS gives me an opportunity to do my part in making this a reality.

I try to find joy in the small things in life. I’m a mom of 4 awesome kids and 5 fur babies. I absolutely love all things Disney I am also a big fan of Star Wars, Dr. Who, and Harry Potter (basically I’m just a big kid at heart).

I teach to help build a brighter future, and to encourage students and people to explore mathematics and hopefully alleviate some of their fears toward math.

I’m a proud Texan that calls Tulsa home. I enjoy flea markets, Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, 90s hip-hop, stand-up comedy, and mathematics.

I teach because I get to help youth actualize their power and position in dismantling an oppressive and dusty education system.

I am married and I have two wonderful children, and I love God and my church. In my down time, I enjoy reading, puzzles, crocheting, and time at the lake.

There are many reasons why I choose to teach mathematics, but one of them is that it is something that I enjoy. I continue teaching mathematics because it is fun to teach, I am good at what I do (although I can always improve!), I believe that learning mathematics can play a vital role in students’ education, and for the many lessons mathematics teach us besides just the math. It is not always fun (for some) and not always easy. Mathematics takes perseverance, hard-work, and critical thinking. These are important lessons for everyone to learn.

When I am not teaching, I am learning! My favorite thing to do is learn a new hobby or about something new. I love reading, hiking, rowing, skating, and baking something I’ve never attempted before. Also, I have a dog named Brie who loves to hike- so taking her on a hike is definitely my favorite hobby!

I teach because I want to show students how fun and exciting math can be! Teaching lets me encourage students on their math learning journey through the creation of a unique classroom environment and inventive education tools. I was lucky enough to have teachers that fostered my passion for STEM and I’m here to do the same for my students!

I’m a 7th generation Texan who has called Tulsa, Oklahoma home for the past 8 years. I live right in Owen Park with my husband Mitch and my lab-mastiff Tucker. I love hosting gatherings in my home and watching long hours of crappy reality television. I’m an avid college football fan and am always down to talk sports.

I strongly believe in the benefit of a full liberal arts education. As a math teacher I want to bring joy into a subject that is disliked by many. I believe the ability to solve problems is one that can be applied to many aspects to daily life.
