At Serenade Night, the TSAS Foundation for Academic Excellence (FAE) announced the critical need for the TSAS community to raise funds to offset the continued decline in state funding. Based on a 5% cut the shortfall per student is $324 and a 7.5% cut results in a shortfall of $462. Based on the most recent projections the TSAS shortage of funding could reach $100,000. To counteract this we are asking each family to donate $300 per student. We have already raised $17,000 through donations of TSAS board members, some alumni families, and matching grants from the Bovaird and Williams foundations. TSAS has a tremendous history of success as outlined in the flyer on the Annual Appeal page. The Annual Appeal letter is also available there and includes more funding information.
Your contribution is very important. Please visit the Annual Appeal link on the TSAS web page. You can donate directly through the Donate button or send a check to the TSAS office. Remember that donations prior to the end of the year count as a 2009 tax deduction.
We are working to develop a mailing to all current and former TSAS families. This mailing is expected to be sent in January. We have experienced some delays in this mailing. The most significant is the difficulty is sorting through all the information on former and current TSAS families to develop a mailing list. Another delay is the fact that we have worked to minimize the cost of the mailing through volunteer contributions; however, we have experienced some delay in working around our volunteers schedules. While the letter and information will be sent in January as a current TSAS family you can visit the Annual Appeal link at tsas.org and make your contribution now.
